Will Bernard has been a part of the American Jazz and groove scene for many years. A native of Berkeley and graduate of Berkeley High he formed an early musical project with school mate Charlie Hunter in the celebrated group T.J. Kirk whose 2nd record for Warner Bros. “If Four Was One” was nominated for a Grammy in 1997. Over the years Will has become a leading voice in the Jam band groove-Jazz scene performing and recording with John Medeski, Stanton Moore, Lonnie Smith, and Robert Walter. Billboard magazine said Will Bernard is “one of the best-kept jazz-guitar secrets on the planet.” Today the world is taking notice with his most recent solo release “Party Hats” nominated
for best contemporary Jazz album at the 2007 Grammy Awards. Also in 2007 Will relocated to the Brooklyn-New York City area and has found the challenging and invigorating music scene he has long searched for. His next solo album for Palmetto records will feature John Medeski on keyboards and Stanton Moore on drums with a scheduled release in 2008.
